Erics fan settings

Having a discussion with another buick guy and he said with Erics chip the fans never turn off if above a certain temp (167). I thought above 45 the fans turned off because at 45 there was enough air moving through the radiator fans werent a help. So, above 45 do the fans turn off?

There is a parameter in the chip for fan turn-off mph. However, due to some quirky coding, it doesn't work. It will however turn off the forced A/C fan if the coolant is under the setpoint and mph exceeds the setting. This code resides in the ECM's ROM and not on the chip, so it's not fixable. There are ways to get around it, but it would take up space in the chip. It doesn't seem to cause any problems, so I've never messed with it.
