Very nice. G.M. should have{in my opinion} done something retro. on the GTO. Rather than just slap a name plate on an existing car. Although the GTO is a nice car it will never be a GOAT.

That is going to be a very quick car. Already seeing stock SRT8's in the 12's and the Challenger will be lighter and have the 6-speed. Lookout when the programmer for these cars hits the market this spring.

I will be ordering one as soon as it is available. I'm glad I did not buy a GTO this year and decided to wait for the Challenger to come out.

Which explains why GM is tanking so fast. They just don't know how to build a car that somebody would actually like to be seen driving.

Spy photo...yah...more like photochopped. They would never partially hide the headlights with overlapping sheet metal like in that picture.

Actually, I'm surprised how many "Hey, cool car" comments or admiring glances I get when I drive my GTO. Certainly not as many as the Buick, but I get 'em nonetheless even though mine is the more "plain Jane"/no faux hood scoops looking '04.

Yep, doesn't seem to be near as many GTO haters in real life as on the net. ;)

Much better than what they did to the Charger.

Werd  the charger looks like a 300 with a jc whitney bolt in apc grill :frown: Gm should get away from the 8500lb. suv's with 5 miles to the gallon & bring out a 2007 gn/gnx,t,etc. revitalized turbo rearwheeldrive platform. No not a grandam or gtp black with gnx badges either. something around 3000lbs, 2 door, etc. I say a iron LQ9 style iron block in the 6 cylinder form with 6 bolt mains, a ton of head bolts, & twin 70 bb turbos  I am dreaming again.

I do hear GM is trying to bring back a retro 67 Camaro. They better hurry. I think they goofed on the GTO.

I see tons of the retro Ford mustangs being rentred like hotcakes at he airport i work next too. hertz & avis are cleaning up on these pups.

I have to agree with Turbo1dr on the photochopped, look in the first pic. look at the mans shadow standing beside the car, he has a full Shadow but that wouldn't happen with him standing beside the minivan. just look at the shadows. it would be a great looking car if it was built though, to bad it would have the OVER rated hemi.

LOL! Over rated????? I've got a 4,400lb car with a 2.72 rearend running a very low 14 stock and the 6.1 hemi is running 12's stock. Oh yeah, it's over rated. I'd like to hear why you think it's over rated.

I guess the LS1 & LS2 are over rated according to your logic also.

Thanks for starting my day off with a good laugh ;)

The shadow on the Challenger is being cast from the guy standing to the right of the guy in the pic. If you look you can just see part of his head. The sun is shining almost between the van and the car. I think it's legit, at least as far as the shadows go. The nose looks chopped to me. Looks fake.

show me the time slip, & not the one from your Buick.

Challenger looks pretty good. A lot better than the GTO. What a shame.

But, it is a mopar product so I wouldn't be caught dead in it.

If the GTO looked like something other than a soccer mom car I might get one.

Till then, I will stick with what I have.
my o2.

I don't want to have a debate with someone who seemingly has no interest in being objective. Please do not take that personally, because that is not what my intention here is. You are entitled to an opinion and I am not seeking to make a convert out of you.

My claims as to what the Hemi's can do are well doccumented in print and if you are curious check out lxforums.com. Plenty of timeslips to support my statements on this site and a great group to learn from.

Here is an article for grins.

My point here is this. I have owned dozens of what I would call hobby cars. each have their own fans and critics. I would never waste anyones time tryingto convince a GM guy what a great car my 6bbl 440 Roadrunner was, and the same is true for the Mopar guys who did not like Chevelle's or Camaro's. I can spot somebody with a brand bias a mile away and have learned that it's better to leave well enough alone.

I like great cars period. Be it a GM, Ford or a Mopar. Not everyone thinks the way I do and that's fine.

I don't think its a photoshop job.

Personally I would be all over it.Looks better than anything out there today.I think its just pathetic what they did with the charger though.

I too love almost all cars from the 60's & up to 73 (oh yea 86-87  ) I go to car shows I look & admire most cars even the Mopars (don't tell anyone) . what I meant by what I said is people of this day & age hear the word hemi especially the non car crowd automatically think of the old 426 wedge hemi, & they think it's the same thing. I personaly dislike the mopar line up. "I" think everything inside is so tacky looking, not that dodge is the only one, the Pontiacs are just as bad if not worse. opinions are like butt holes everyone has one.

And on that note, Chrylser can do no right by you, and that's fine with me. Love my Magnum R/T and quite honestly, it's the best all around car I have owned.

believe if the 300's and Magnums had come from GM some would whistle a different tune. Bottom line, the new Challenger is going to be a big success and will be a force on the street/strip.
