When I drive my car I get the smell of exhaust fumes in the cockpit so much, I drive with the windows down. This started when I installed my new exhaust. I hear a small exhaust leak coming from the pass header area but I don't know if that would be enough to smell up the inside. Has anyone experienced this ? I am thinking about stuffing a rag in one exhaust tip to seal it off then stuff a rag in the other with a hose and blow smoke into the exhaust to see where it is leaking from. Will that be enough to find any leaks or is there an easier way. I gave up smoking 25 years ago,lol and i will only do this test if I can get results from it. What do you guys think ? Thanks, Kyle.

It will cause enough. If you smell that then you are also inhaling a lot of CO.

Yes, trying to find the problem, maybe this gives me the excuse to order some new TA headers. LOL. Do you think the test I mentioned above will help me pinpoint the leak ?

Remove the pre catalytic converter components and look for carbon trails. They will be there. They cant hide. Weld the headers with inconel. After sand blasting the areas to be welded. File the flanges flat with a large file. This can take a half hour and a few blisters on your hand. Use copper rtv on the flanges and a remflex gasket on the turbo to header. This should resolve the leaks. The left side manifold flange is often distorted from jack asses over tightening the bolts. There is no easy fix for that unless you have good fabricating skills. You could install v band flanges on them. A lot of work though.
