extender extreme g with maf translator?

Helping a friend switch over from the factory stuff to an ls1 maf, 60's, extender extreme g chip and the regular maf translator. The car starts but barely runs(stumbling missing) and fouls the plugs in a short time.
Could the problem be that the regular maf translator is not compatable with the extender extreme g chip?
Should he have ordered the plain extender chip for 60's instead?

The Extreme G chip cannot be used with a regular Translator, only the Gen II Translator.
