External wastegate?

Looking at vendors websites i do not see any selling external wastegates.
I need an external gate and would prefer an HKS but am open to other manufactures.
What is the best wastegate for ''bang for the buck"?
I prefer an HKS because the headers i am getting are set up with a 4 bolt HKS wategate flange.
This is for a 76 or larger turbo.

The HKS GT 60MM is one of the best out there.
It is not that cheap.

Precision has their stuff and I am sure ANS, full throttle and maybe Anderson can help you since they are all PT Dealers.

howabout the turbonetics new gen? i won one a few yrs ago and was thinking about using it on the stage motor. it says its good up to 1000hp.

That new gen with the swing valve is pretty good from what I have heard. Dusty Bradford is going to have one on his SBC with a GT-47 88. If it works on his car then you should be just fine.

I have the 60 MM gate on my car, i have to take it off and go smaller since it does not work good on a 231engine, its just to sensistive, boost goes up and down +/- 3 psi during the run controlled by the msbc-1. Just my findings

You don't flow enough air for that gate.
You would probably do just fine with a 40MM.

HKS 60mm on a 231

Definately overkill. Like John said, I have the NewGen and have seen it work locally on a 2000hp motor although it's completely closed on this type of engine. The best thing to judge a wastegate by is it's size and ability to get the boost as low as you might want. I have a SBC and would like to be able to get my boost down to 10-12 psi with the GT-47/88. I was told the NewGen can do it, if not I will need something like the 60mm you have.

Maybe a smaller HKS wastegate will work better and you won't have to change the flange.

I use the the Turbosmart 45 mm gate. Its a quality piece which comes with all of the adapters. Its an Australian made product.Very popular down under. I adapted it very easy to the HKS 2 bolt flange.
It has worked great from day one. I believe that this gate is a bit less than the other comparable ones of the same size.
