f-body hollow swaybar question..

hey guys... i told my friend today about how bigger/stiffer/hollow fbody swaybars fit in our cars. he mentioned his car has a brace that parallels the swaybar between the mounts where the swaybar bushings are held on the frame..

would this piece fit a buick too?

If it clears the intercooler intake scoop, yes. I don't think the stock pieces fit as Kirban sells a special offset one for our cars. BTW if you don't have the "V" braces from the crossmember under the engine to the frame rails, these are a great addition.

I've used that sway bar on non intercooled cars, but not sure about I/C'd ones.

On the FBods that extra reinforcement is the same idea as what the front crossmember diagnals do. And the under radiator side to side brace is for the same reasons. They only come into serious play on sudden turning manuevers.

well then.. if i already have the diagonal braces... would the factory g-body under radiator brace (doesnt fit with the diagonal bars.. its one or the other), the kirban brace, the f-body brace, or one of Jeff D's braces make a difference for the front of the car?

If I remember right the bolt hole width is smaller on the f body crossmember. The Regal frame is wider than the f body frame. That is the reason that I was not going to reuse it.

All three fit on a non-IC car. I have all three. I just put the third brace from the Granbd Prix on last with a washer between it and the other two braces.

The hollow sway bar fits, but it's a little narrower and squashes the bushing at the frame brackets.
