I got the new deep pan and sump on there. Did not help. The needle is swinging quite wildly now. During the job the transfer tube fell out ! It wasn't clipped down. I locktited back in place - when I retightened th VB bolt, it would not take a torque... threaded ? Same with another bolt holding the PTS sump.

SO, my guess is that the VB is leaking out the side creating the whirring sound as fluid escapes into the pan shaking needle.

Yer thoughts?

Helicoil ?

Well - I've got to the point where I think it is probably best to just have it rebuilt here. If that doesn't work - I am throwing in the towel.

How much would it cost to ship the tranny here and have it fixed in a US shop?

My guess - $350 up, $350 back, excluding taxes and duties. And that would be by surface... at least 2 months without a trans :(

Perhaps it would be less than 2 months if they had a rebuilt unit sitting on the shelf that you could take.

pump slide spring

I'm wondering a weak pump slide spring would cause the symptoms you are having. I kinda had something similar but not as severe as you, pressure loss at a higher RPM.

Ok Dorian..

We gotta quit screwin around.& guessin. ;) ..... LOL
Give me or Mark a call this week and lets see what we can do to get you up and running.
I would imagine we would need a micrometer to measure your patience level right now, :D It can be frustrating...All can tell you that.
Sit back, take a breath , and give us a shout beginning of the week when you have the chance.

Will do, chief !

My patience was at its thinest last night - the engine died in front of my garage... I had to push it in. Engines turning over trying to start tend to wake neighbors that are trying to catch some Z's at 00:10.

I would have performed the test earlier, but some @&%ù*€ parked his van in front of my garage to catch a 2-hour soccer game. I figured - why ruin his night totally if his team lost, or why ruin a good night if his team won. I waited rather than have his van towed away

My 350 is back in

I dropped the 200-4R entirely.

It appears that I had one loose bolt and one stripped bolt in the VB

I guess that MUST have been the problem.

Well, I have a full rebuild kit. I guess I will rebuild the trans and give this another whack in a few months.

Sooooo - when's that CK overhaul guide gonna be ready :D ?
