Just thought I would start a pointless thread...... but it would be neat to see who ran what time on relatively low boost.

In today's economy.... people are pinching every penny they can. I vow to not put any high test 116 in my tank..... too expensive... and I don't want my car.... or me.... to get addicted to it.....

With that said..... It would be neat to see what people ran on relatively small boost (regardless of what type of fuel they were using to do it)..... and the basics of their combo...... please include:

pump gas
pump gas and alky
race gas

etc.....

Here is a start.....

My buddies car ran 10.40's 2 years ago in Reynolds.... with ported 8445 iron heads....109 block.... stock 231" displacement.... on 21.5 lbs of boost...... 74GTQ turbo....lazy upper 1.6X's in the 60'..... trap speed was nearly 133. Race gas and alky.

I went 8.89 @ 155 on 22 psi. is that fast enough?

on center block, R heads, & 42/76 turbo & q16 in the tank.

I've gone 11.60 on 12 psi. If I would have remembered to turn the alky off, it may have gone low 11's.

Ran 10.23 @ 133 on pump gas only and 20lbs of boost. timing was @ 18 or 19 i believe.

Turbobitt ran 9.86@136.8 at 19.15psi weighing 3700+lbs. Chitty 60' 1.46 and converter slip was over 10%. This was back in 2003. This is data taken off an FAST data log. The average boost in 3rd averaged over all frames was 19.15. Last frame of WOT in 3rd was 7300 rpm. 1-2 shift 7500, 2-3 shift rpm 7000. Engine was a 271ci 8.0:1 stage 2. With todays turbo and converter tech this car would pick up a lot of power without increasing the boost pressure. It was a POS on center 4 bolt Q trim (not GTQ) and tiny 76 compressor. If it was a 4276 and PTC 9.5" id speculate it would have run at least 143mph at the same boost pressure.

10.20@134 21psi, 20deg timing, in D shifting at 5100, Q16 (I was hoping to run high boost, but had fueling issues, which was caused by the Q16, my Gen 2 translator was set to map, so it wasn't adding the high load fuel I had adjusted). I drove the car all summer with a 93/110 mix like this with no problems.
