Fastest times w/t Moser 28 Spline

Just wanted to know what the fastest times are using the Moser 28 spline stock replacement axles? and if anyone has gotten a pair to fail or started to fail (twisting) without using a T-Brake. I belive Geno ran some real low 10s? not sure tho.

28 spline

Unless they have made improvements, I would not use them over stock. About 6 years ago I went through 2 sets one summer, running high 11'S, foot bracking with high 1.5 60 ft. Mine would twist in the spline. Once they twist in the spline, getting them out is a Mother.

How long ago was that Lee? Anyone else use them?

I've got them in my car. Lots of passes on them with a best of 1.45 60ft. No problems yet.

Its not a GN, but a friend has gone 9.70's with those axles in a 5.0 Mustang. 1.37 60 ft. Hasn't broke one yet.

I've got those axles also, been flogging them pretty good. NO problems what so ever.

moser axles

I've got em in my we4
No official times, just lots of testing on back roads.
street tires, no trans brake, seem to be fine, (did inspect them after a 2 mo period of use)
Mine are less then a year old,
I like em! but time will tell!!

There have been various articles on axle selection appearing in the mags over the years. The better manufacturers (e.g. Mark Williams) recommend more than 28 splines for our cars...

I was trying to decide if I should step up to the 30 spline Mosers and Eaton posi, or if the stock posi w/t the 28 spline Mosers would be ok. My GN is lighter than most, it weighs less than 3500# w/t me in it. I know weight plays a factor but I guess it's better to be safe, since I will be between 650-700FWHP.

650-700 hp---You best step up to the 30 spline, at least. Nationwide out of Michigan can change the spider gears in the Eaton posi to where you can use 33 spline axles. If you are serious, I can look through my reciepts and get their # I bought my Eaton from them, at the best price around. Good Luck
