It helps when youre fighting cans like Kevin Randleman, Zuluzhino, Yuji Nagata, Kerry Schall and all the other cans he fights or fights middleweights like Matt Linland and still has to grab the ropes to keep from being taken down.
Fedor is a great fighter and has fought some tough competition however its all been guys that AS SOON AS THEY LEFT PRIDE, they tanked. Big Nog, tanking in the UFC, CroCop, lets not even go there. Now he's fighting Brett Rogers and Arlovski and his upcoming fight against PeDePano is another UFC reject he's been set up against to win in spectacular fashion.
There are a lot of people that have fought better people but if theyre looking at records alone then I guess he deserves it. GSP has fought better competition and probably deserved it more but everyone is blinded by the Fedor mystique.

I have to respectfully disagree, your boy Rampage did not do too bad in the UFC.
However until he gets on some meds he may never be a champ again.
Nog could become the HW champion. Shogun is the real LHW champion in my opinion.
I think the judges were drinking some Machida tea. Anderson Silva was also a Pride fighter...
However Mirko who is my favorite fighter of all time appears to be done.
It looks like he lost his fire. He and Wand both went through a lot of battles and are small for their weight classes in the UFC.
The foreign fighters that fought in Japan did not cut weight for the most part.
This puts them at a huge disadvantage when fighting people that have been cutting for years. ( Not Anderson)
To be honest I think the whole cutting thing is stupid, people should fight at their natural weight.
Anderson Silva cutting from 230ish to fight at 185 is lame. Same thing for some 155ers that walk around close to 190.
GSP and Anderson lost and to nobodys, Fedor has not lost /thread

When Pride was in its heyday UFC could not even come close to their talent pool... just ask Chuck... saying Fedor was beating cans is complete BS and supreme UFC nuthuggery... Fedor's opponents have a combined win-loss record of: W 502 - L 211... win percentage:70.4%... WTF are you serious? Let see Brock Lesnar oppositions combined record: W 61 - L 35... win percentage:57.3%... Wikipedia Fedor and look at the list of who-who and he's beaten them. Name one present UFC champion who can come close to that kind of run or success... no one, the exception being Matt Hughes when he was on top. Lesnar is dominating a diluted Heavy weight division, that couldn't even come close to the competitiveness and experience of old Pride... I love both fight promotions, but get real on your opinions here, numbers don't lie...

Youre insane. Pride's HW division had 4 people that were worth a crap and a supporting cast. Big Nog, Fedor, Josh Barnett and CroCop and then the supporting cast of Sergie Kharitonov, Mark Hunt, etc. Barnett probably pisses fire he's so roided up, CroCop is done and Big Nog has not been very impressive since going to the UFC. Pride had a much better LHW division at the time, they just had several big name, skilled fighters in the HW division.
Also, as I was alluding to but didnt come right out and say it.. I believe drug testing has had a profound effect on the former Pride fighters' performances in the UFC. You have to admit that Wand and Rampage both look tremendously smaller in their UFC debuts than they did in Pride. Barnett is a proven roider so it goes without saying where he is concerned.....
Im not saying Fedor never fought anyone good. Im just saying I think the impression of talent level was skewed and now his management is protecting him. I think Lesnar and Mir both are bad matchups for him for different reasons. Everyone else in the UFC is unproven but could give him a good fight as well.
I still think GSP has had a better run. If it wasnt for the Matt Serra loss, I think he would be consdered the #1 P4P.

Arlovski has always had a glass chin. Sylvia just proved that. Far as Sylvia, I dont know what to make of him. I think the quality of training partners at MFS has gone down quite a bit with the departure of Matt Hughes, Robby Lawler and others. Plus MFS is like The Lions Den and Hammerhouse.. theyre just not evolving with the rest of the MMA world.
Josh would have probably been Fedor's toughest test. Very tough to submit and has good enough submissions of his own that he would be a threat. Ask Big Nog about that.. saved by the bell from that knee bar.
I still think stylistically Lesnar matches up better with Fedor than about anyone else out there. Brock isnt stupid.. the fight wouldnt stay standing up any longer than Brock wanted it to and I just dont see Fedor getting out from under a 290# guy with a base like Brocks. Its not like reversing Hong Man Choi.

Absolutely! It is all about matchup's. I doubt Fedor could sweep or reverse Brock from his guard. Especially with Brock throwing the sledgehammers in his face. Brock could take him down at will, not vice versa.
Brock would throw Fedor on the ground and RAPE him.

Your right I am insane... don't worry about trying to change my opinion, I was watching the UFC since the mid 90's and Pride since I was in Asia 2001 timeframe. I'm talking about when PRIDE was the premier organization the were deeper. Your trying to legitimize your argument based off of what a majority of the Pride heavyweights have done post Pride. That is irrelevent to my point, my point is back then Pride had a deeper better heavy weight division. Now look at UFC how many really good HW's do they have? I will agree on the PED testing effecting the former Pride guys in the UFC... just ask Overeeem why he won't fight in the States... So Jay when I come up to Big Wood to get the T worked will I discover a big picture of Brock in a speedo on your desktop????
