Installed a oil pressure gauge(analog) it was about 20, when i 1st started it i got around 38-40psi. I have white smoke coming tail pipes, New injectors, new TT chip, tune up,fuel filter etc. My temps when above 190 pretty fast with fan on, im not sure whats going on. Only after racings a WS6 last year (before i stored the car away), the low oil Pressure light was on, car would run like crap. Car hasn't ran the same since the race. Im guessing its just HG(s) or oil pickup is loose or clogged IDK, any feedback would help, Thanks guys Before getting this problem( i didnt think anything was wrong) I added a Oil cooler and trans cooler as well. BTW oil is BLACK and when i did a tune up the plugs had oil on them. SUre thats a give away just figure i ask THE PROS

Black smoke = rich condition. Blue smoke = oil. White smoke = water. I think you blew the head gaskets. You need to do a leak down test or get a head gasket test kit from NAPA. Not very expensive but it will tell you whether or not you blew the head gaskets.

If i do in fact have blownHG(s) which gaskets should i get? (part #) who sells em etc etc. copper any good? felpro?

Unless you want to O ring the heads then forget about copper gaskets. There's a wide opinion on head gaskets but I prefer Felpro 1000's myself.

If you want original GM steel shim gaskets like the factory used on the 1985 turbo engines, I have them in stock. :)

What's the better choice felpro 1000s, how about the 1007s? How much should it cost to get the gaskets replaced? I'm sure I do have blown HGs. Today im gonna take it to my friend down the Street for leak down test etc(30yrs + mech) . Autozone has MR gasket ....head gaskets, anyone use those?? If im gonna do it, im gonna do it right the 1st time.

I would personally reccomend the steel shims Nicks got.

there fairly tough, especially if used with an RJC glue kit... but mostly because it favors compression.

I found out that I can get the 1000's at AZ for $35 each which suprised me, and we can even get them.

35$ EACH! wow, i checked today and the online had posted them for $52.99
Guess it depends on location. Been meaning to apply there (through that out there)

Im kinda looking at the 1007s but if you guys say and back up 1000s then sounds good to me.

Sucks the motor was rebuilt not to long ago but it was kinda sitting for a while after. Well Next time i race i will have ALky for sure, as well as other goodies.

Online is entirely different. Go to a store and look up head gaskets for an 83 Regal with a 4.1, then click on the performance head gasket and you can see what the cost is. I was totally suprised when I looked them up.

stay away from 1007s, those are lock wire gaskets.
