fel-pro 1000 gaskets

Do the fel-pro 1000 head gaskets require the heads be machined for receiver groove. Some catalogs mention that they should be machined some don't mention at all. What's the truth?

No. 1007"s do.

Used them on my 84 block .020" over no machining (87 setup)
Was still running strong When I removed the motor.
I keep it as my backup motor
