Get your EGT working...it's not the best but it's a good indicator as to what's happening rich or lean wise...at 20PSI boost a good EGT number to start with would probably be around 1550-1600 degrees but every car is different...the number will increase as the boost increases...and of course will fluctuate depending on how rich or lean the car is but as someone stated it can lie...I don't really agree that it lies...it can just be missleading...let's say your EGT after a run is 1680...you may think it's running a little lean so you raise the FP...next run it's 1700...you say what the ???...well what happened is the car was actually running rich and by adding fuel you made it worse...using the EGt is a balancing act...what I do is run the car fat/rich at first...get the EGT...O2 and knock readings...if no knock I either take out fuel or increase boost...check readings again...I do this until the EGT goes when I take fuel out...at that point I know I'm heading towards the lean side...so I've basically found the FP setting I want for that particular boost level...after that I usually increase boost until the EGT's start going up again...then add a little more fuel...and so on...
