Finally got all my parts except for wheel studs, ordering them tonight. Just wanted to share !!!!!!!! I have been waiting since november for this !!!! 30 spline eaton posi and moser axles. Ta rear end cover [ girdle] Richmond 3.42 gear set with install kit, new outer bearings, brakes, cylinders, etc. God I might finally get to drive my car again before to long. Cleaned the rear springs today and painted them a nice silver with the rear sway bar as well then put several coats of clear on them. Also cleaned the rear end off all that rubber underspray they put on it at the factory grrrrrrrr that was fun then painted it. Cleaned under the car some and pressure washed it, figured while it was hogging up my lift may as well go on and do it lol. I am TIRED lol, hope you guys had a great day to ! :biggrin:Daniel Ray

I also took out my rear air bags and cleaned them but forgot to get a pic, The underside is still wet in the pic but there is NO RUST on my car except for light surface rust on the frame rails, I know you guys up north hate me lol. There is some good points to living in the south where its only 1000 degrees in the summer:biggrin:

very nice, that rearend shoud be able to take a beating now :)

I sure hope so, it was heartbreaking at renyolds this past november when I went to lauch and BAM it was all over but the crying lol. Hope this is the first and last time I have to go thur this. Daniel

trust me i know the feeling. WCN 2008 saturday night, I lauched, made it to about the 60foot mark and the car drop to the driver side. as i sit on the track i see my wheel and axle rolling past me  . I called up a local friend and put a rearend in the car that night on the trailer so i could race sunday. Only damage was the axle scraped the paint off the lower section of the front rear fender and the tire came up and smaked the rear quater panel. cost me about 1,500 to fix the body work ( spot in the paint and had my dent guy spend hours fixing the rear quater, saved me $$$$ no body work)

Anyways so moral of the story for both of us. Upgrade those rearends before something breaks. i could have been killed, i'm very lucky it happend at the lauch.

I now have 33spline axles c/clip elim, and a spool with TA cover :) I know i wont break that rearend.

Now that the axle is out, might be time to do something about the C-clips.

I hear you ! Glad if it was going to happen it did it to me right on the line, I didn't move 3-4 feet total. I thought strong about going with what you did but just didn't want a spool in it, just personal pref. The 30s I got are still c clip axles but no more than I go to the track they will live forever with me. I usually go to renyolds once a year and maybe a local track once or twice but mainly just street drive and enjoy mine more than anything any more. The track usually costs you money lol. Daniel Ray:D

Looks good Daniel Ray!:D I have almost the exact same setup in my GN. I did have my TA cover powdercoated clear though. Best $30 I spent this winter. I used a epoxy black paint on my axle and upper control arms. I did everything but the new axle bearings. I think I might go to a H&R bar at some point this year.

Just make sure you get the right carrier bearing 'cause thats the large hub Eaton posi. Ask me how I found that out... And also you can only use convential fluid with the Eaton as well.

That setup will take all the abuse you can throw at it.

ahead of yah lol, I got the right bearings for the posi, I had done bought royle purple rear end lube so I had to take that back to the store and get something diffrent lol. Daniel Ray

finally back in , almost ready to drive again !!!!!

That's interesting... I just got a set of 30 spline Mosers, new in the box, from the local speed shop (ordered from Moser), and they only have a single wheel stud pattern on the flange, they came with 12mm studs installed, too...

I see yours have the dual pattern on the flanges.

Question. Aren't the tight side of progressive springs supposed to be on the top? It looks awesome BTW. Let us know how that Eaton works out. I may be going there soon if my stock posi is not holding up.

Mine were dual pattern, one for push in studs and one was treaded. If the springs are upside down let me know !!!!!!! I might have screwed up lol, it had been out for a while but I thought they were right. Daniel Ray

Found a pic I took before I took rear end out, tight springs are on bottom just like I put it back, sheeewh :D lol.

I called SPC and Eibach about their progressive springs. (I have the SPC's) Both said to put the tight side up. I don't know what springs you have, but I would call them if I were you. I even did some googling and could not find one instance where the tightly wound coils went down.

I will check on a buddy of mines car that I know his rear end has never been touched. Stock springs in mine. I would make sence to me for the tight to be down so you have soft ride and as it compresses it gets harder and harder. Thanks

Just trying to help. BTW the stock springs are not progressive. I'm assuming that yours are probably Moog Cargo springs or maybe Kirbans.

Bringing this back from the dead. How do you like the Richmond gears? Also if you dont mind what did shop charge to rebuild whole unit? Im in the process of buying the exact setup. Thanks

Just make sure you get the right carrier bearings 'cause thats the large hub Eaton posi , Love all of it including the gears. Zero problems at all. The guy here is a rear end guru , none better in my opion and he didn't charge me but 200 to stack it for me but we have been friends for a LONG time so he did it cheaper for me lol. I took him everything and had cleaned the rear end good so all he had to do was get to work. Hope yours turns out as good as mine ! I have no complaints at all. Daniel
