ps I took the rear out and took it to him and put it back in myself to

The instructions I read stated to use conventional fluid AND the GM or Ford limited slip additive. Has anyone just tried synthetic fluid without the additive?

I know with the Eaton if you use synthetic fluid, I believe it will void the warranty. Don't remember for sure though. I used the Royal Purple gear oil in my old T-Type when I put a factory posi in it, as it was a open diff from the factory. No problems with that.

I've run sythetic Amsoil for 5 years with my Eaton. No issues. It's tight too.

Thanks. I'm going to drain my current fluid with additive and put in just synthetic as it used to chatter when I did this before. I'm hoping without the additive I can get one more weekend out of it, but I'll get the Eaton over the winter and I'll def run straight synthetic fluid at first and try that rather than conventional fluid with additive. Thanks again.

I had bought royal purple to put in it but the instructions that came with the Eaton said DO NOT run synthetic in it so I didn't .
