Just got my laptop mounted and took the GN out for its first tuning runs. I have the boost turned down as low as it can be and line off FP is at 42 (autometer gauge, no transducer yet). Also have an inline AEM WBO2 hooked up to the PL

My goal is pretty simple, run as fast as i can with my current setup without knock...then go from there.

Please take a look at my log files and let me know what you think. I have read Razor's "tuning with alky" thread but id like some input from others.

Run #2 stood out to me at 70 MPH, 18:1 AFR and 1.8 deg KR.

Looks like the trans flared and you hit the rev limit.

Are those runs with alky?
 
yea they are, its set about in the middle right now. I have to learn to drive this thing just as much as learn to tune it...thanks a lot for the reply, where would you suggest i go from here?
 
I would look into getting the trans fixed. It's only going to get worse as you turn up the boost.

Have you checked the trans fluid?

If you want to do testing, do it in drive, let it get into 3rd gear then lay into it. Try not to downshift. The idea is to do 3rd gear pulls without letting the trans shift. That will give you some good data without putting the trans through to much hell. Right around 45mph is a good spot to go from.

If it does downshift pull out and try again with a little more speed. Try not to do any wot up shifting until you get trans fixed. It's just going to make thing worse fast.
 
ill take your advice and do 3rd gear pulls, i appreciate that. Im pretty bummed about the tranny tho, hopefully it will hold up till winter
 
To me it seems your coolant temps are high. Even in 100 degree weather my car NEVER runs that hot with a 160 stat. I run a stock radiator and ramcharger fans. And my batt voltage never goes below 12.8v at wot. Yours is at 12.3v. These two things will contribute to running into detonation
 
yea man i noticed my temps getting high lately, i have a 180 deg stat and it gets well over 200 in traffic It has an alum radiator and dual fans, my coolant level is good also so i dont know whats going on. ill get my battery load tested and see what the deal is with that too.

i was sure thinking id slap on the PL, get to tuning and be in the 11's by now...instead i have hot, under charging, tranny flairing 14 sec GN :cool:

anyone see anything else? and thanks for the replies so far guys i appreciate the help.
