Went to the local drag strip today, made 3 runs, and i'm pretty happy. Best time was 13.11@106.3, best mph was 106.69. 60 fts were pretty bad, 2.1 leaving at 5lbs of boost spinning bad. Had the Nitto drag radials @ 21psi, and a good burn out. Car has the following mods: Joe Lubrant street chip 18psi and 22degrees of timing, no cat converter, hooker exhaust, K&N cone, 160 stat, 36 lb injectors, ADFPR, scanmaster, AD Wastegate actuator, 275/50 Nitto drag radials. Stock turbo, intercooler, heads, cam. I didn't lock up the TC, so without doing that, and the weak 60ft's, I'm pretty happy. 02's were 810 and 0 knock.

going to the track with drag radials is like taking a knife to a gun fight....you'll lose!

Like everybody who owns one of these cars, you eventually have plans to get in the 11's, then who knows. Hence the name. I went there to see what it would do set up in full street mode. So as far as that goes I'm happy. It will go 11's next year. Tough crowd around here tonight.....

Welcome to the club of guys who cant launch:D (see sig)

I was hoping to get rid of the stigma Friday with a host of improvements but I was rained out:mad:
Maybe this weekend

I will not go into the winter without a 12 sec run:mad:

Wishful thinkin, The B.S. ends when you finally race! It really sucks when you don't have trees, signs and telephone poles to make you think your in the 11s. "My car goes better on the street" Yea, that's what you think. I love it! Cheer up buckaroo, now that you know you don't really have the 600 HP you thought you had, you can go out there and rip some low 13s high 12s:D Where's your Moses now? Just havin fun bud;)

That's pretty good for a fairly stock car,,, simply lock the convertor after it shifts to 3rd and you'll be in the 12s

not bad work on your 60 ft you should have it easy i went 1.82 on nitto 60 ft they can do it just make the car sit down hard.;)

then again mine is REDS HOT AIR but its intercooled
The hot air is not coming from the car :D ;)

11sec, sounds like a strong running stock turbo car, especially at that 18 psi boost level. Using a race chip with higher timing on that stock turbo could help out quite a bit, along with 20 to 22 psi boost. I run a $25 Thrasher 100. Be sure you have adequate fp at WOT (check with a fp guage ran up under the wiper), before turning up the boost too much. Didn't know if you had a Walbro pump.

I just learned to launch these cars too. Build boost to the 5 lb, then accelerator to the floor, release brake quickly, hang on if it hooks  . Try out some slicks like azgn said. Locking the TC will give you 1 to 2 mph more, but I would not do that every time.

Try just chirping the radials. And then 0 boost might se better
times. worked for me . only difference was a 49. Injecters where too small street chip. race gas. air shock 5& 15.

That's definitely a 12.8 or better run. I had a GN that went 12.84 at 105.7. Here is what I found worked on my car to launch it on street tires.

I was running Kelly springfield chargers at the time. They were 235-60-15 radials with an S for the speed rating. Ran 17 to 18 pounds of air in the rear tires and 12 pounds of air in the passenger side air bag. I heated the tires up until the smoke from them made the car disappear on the video. Launched with 4 to 5 pounds of boost off the foot brake. It spun pretty hard but I was happy with the 12.84.

Need less to say the tires had about 300 miles on them when I got to the track. After I left the track I doubt the would pass inspection.

Car was stock except for fuel pump, fuel regulator, K&N, testpipe (open at the track) and a chip.

On one of my runs I tried launching at 0 boost, ran almost identical et's to the 5lb launch. Car has one of Red's fuel pumps, and my fuel pressure looked good, held steady and spiked properly. Might try one more time with slicks before the track closes, and use the race chip. Maybe sqeek out a low 12, that would be nice.
