My flare is finally gone, shifts are lightning fast, 2-3 is crazy short and quick, part throttle driving is nice, put your foot into it and shifts are very precise and positive, firm with no bang and the Nitto 555r's bark 1-2.

The flare was caused by a sticking boost valve, unfortunately I had to damage it to get it out. I'll be contacting Chris for another .555 boost valve next week. While chasing the flare removed the valve body on three occasions due to sticking valves despite the fluid being spotless and the magnet clean. Even after thoroughly cleaning out the trans, cooler and lines I still had a few pepper like particles (clutch linings) probably hanging around in the TC. My rebuild was required thanks to some friction lining coming off of the low roller clutch.

In the end I added an in-line filter, let car idle for some time, no more sticking valves and I'm sure the in-line filter with internal magnet and 25 micron filter will add to the longevity of the trans. :)
