anyone ever done/considered putting a ford powerstroke 4r100 5 speed automatic behind a GN. theres a couple on ebay for 700-1000 dollars, i figure the PSD puts out enuf tq to simulate a GN plus its made for towing so its HD.

...... this is a dead horse my friend!

standard trannys and our cars may as well be oil and water!

sure it will hold up just fine, but why bother with the expense of it when you will be faster with the 200r4 that came in it?

add the fact the bolt pattern and other install times are designed for a FERD!:D

The 4r100 is a really good tranny, probably one of Ford's best, BUT. It's probably too big and heavy to be of much use in our cars. I've been under my Excursion looking at it, and it just looks to be huge. Maybe just my perspective, it may not be, I haven't actually seen one out on the ground.

Its an automatic transmission, not a "standard"

Why not try to make the GM allison tranny fit, You will need to cut your tranny tunnel out of your car though, I ve built a few and they are huge
