While working on my car yesterday, I found a wire that was broke. I have no idea where it goes. It comes out of the main harness and it is black with a white stripe. Another problem is the battery is completly dead and nothing was left on. Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks.

May I suggest that it may possibly be the wire for the underhood light? Sometimes we forget to unscrew them until it is too late,like when you take the hood off for a motor swap.What area under the hood is this wire located?

The wire could be the hood light like Turbobuicksix said or just a wire to no where. If it's close to the fire wall I'd bet on the hood light. As for the battery if you have a radio the memory in it has a small drain on the battery and I think the ECM also has a small drain. It depends on how long it has been setting without use. I have one of those big Solar ( Harbor Freight ) wall mount battery chargers hooked to mine and it keeps it charged and ready to go.
How are things in Jackon now a days? I don't run through there anymore. We have moved to a new terminal in St Rose an I now go to Eutaw AL. every night. Later RB

The wire is next to the fire wall on the drivers side and the light is not even there so that solves that one. The car has been sitting a couple months so that probably solves that one also, thanks guys. Things are ok in Jackson. I wish I could get on with one of the local companys. I have my cdl now. Driving a 1 ton van at night right now. Anyway take care.
