NE1 have suggestion as to what to use to enhance the rigidity of the kick up area, when narrowing the frame??
Car will likely end up w/ a rollbar in it, so that will help. But, until/if that happens....???

One "idea" I have is to inject the frame cavity w/ structural foam.....:D

Chuck, when we do a frame notch, a bar is welded between the frame rails for added support there.

I am sure you will also reinforce the front, rear lower arm mounts as well as do the same on the uppers. :)

Nick, thanks.
I recall that some yrs ago, there was a discussion about a bar being added back at the bumper attach points. It was reported that it added significant rigidity to the back section.
I have a Wolfe bar that goes just under the ft side of the springs. About where is your suggested part located?

I'm also thinking of a triangulated bar stock set up inside the frame, B4 I weld the cover back on.
Have you re-used the outer frame plate, or made 1 of more substantial plate??

Ive seen braces added vertically inside the frame while its chopped open,a piece of tubing bent the same shape as the frame the split in half the long way and each half welded to the inside of either side of the frame to stiffen it up,also theres a guy selling Cad designed triangular gussets on Ebay to go in the corners......Also putting a brace in where the bumper bolts on is supposed to help a lot..

Thanks, TurboC..[At least I got 1 new "suggestion", that has some thot behind it!]
The other 2 are 2 jokers that don't like pulled pork and sweet tea...[Especially the NY "pizza king".]:D:p
I've not seen the cad parts, but that brace at the bumper is one I remember from several yrs ago. It's going in, and some fish plates are being considered at the stress points.
I am also going to re work the stamped braces that are triangulated near the lower c. arm mount. That looks puny!:(
The a arm brkts are getting reinforced, and the uppers are getting multiple location holes. The IC on the stock location stinks!

Check this out its called the g box you might wanna try one and save some time...http://www.yellowbullet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=378318
heres the guy that makes it it replaces the entire section between the frame rails.. http://www.davidlemmond.com/

I dont but i met the guy that was selling them in indiana and bought some..I still have them somewhere...I wonder if someone here can duplicate them?
I have most any tool that may be needed to dupe them, including a access to CAD.
That Lemmond piece is NICE!! May be overkill for my 13 sec turd...Ralph, the pizza king, may need one, tho!:D:p

That gbox looks killer. I am wondering if you can still use the GNX bushings under the body when installing that piece
?

I can't tell how much space is there. Could be that a hole saw and a few minutes would allow a bushing to be put in, if the hole is no longer there. Might have to modify the bushing, tho.

I called Dave Lemmonds and asked about the "G Box". It's $450. Takes 2-4 wks to ship. Does not replace the coil spring mounts. [Is made for coil overs].
Could be modified for use w/ stock springs.
Has 6 adj holes.
I'm considering firing up the plasma cutter and making some boxes that will be welded in, in place of the stock single hole mount. [Maybe 2-3 hole choices?] I think I'd prefer to keep the uppers as long as stock, or even a bit longer. [Get them really short, and things get violent.]

Thots on this?
NE1 use the G Box, yet?

Lemond's in Priceville?

Chuck, I add a 1 1/2" bar across the spring perches from side to side. I also add a bar across the top of the rear cross member to stiffen things up. I posted some pics awhile ago of how it turned out.

Ken, thanks for the reply. I now recall that. Might you have the thread link?? [I have terminal CRS!!]
I've got 1" tubing for the edge of the x member. I probably also have some 1 5/8" CM from a previous cage project, I can use on the perch tie.
I'm wondering if a "K" between the 2 bars would reduce side to side "wiggle" at the springs? I also have a Wolfe a/r bar to put in that area.

I found this notch kit a while back but can't find the site. The lower control arm braces are made by TNT.
