Frame narrowing??

Chuck, the car in those pics with the g box is mine. We are using a stock location shock and spring by welding some extra bars and locators to the rear section of roll cage. It's probably overkill for a mild car but for something that gets raced, its a great piece.

As for bracing the frame after a frame notch. I've tried it several ways but the only proper way to do it is to tie the rear frame rails into the main hoop of a roll cage. I have saw one guy stop the famous quarter panel crease by going on the back side of the frame and bending a bar in the shape of the frame and welding along the existing frame rails from the lower control arm mounts all the way to the rear bumper. It was Mike Kurtz white Monte Carlo.

I have used the above kit, works very nice, strengthens the frame and the extra plate on the inside is a big plus,
but... the rear frame ,near the bumper, wiggles, so I added a rear cross member, and gussets,
that made everything more rigid.
