Hello all,

Last week I blew out a drivers side freeze plug  (luckily, not the one behind the motor mount). Is it easy to replace the plug with the header off? Is the header easy to drop? I assume its pretty easy if I pull the header and the dipstick tube? Anyone have any tips for me.

Thanks for any advice....

Jason,

I've never tried, or looked for that matter, but I would first try to install it w/o removing the header.

If header is removed it will entail removing both the alternator and a/c brackets that attach to the exhaust manifold bolts, the cross-over pipe, and dipstick tube.

I've removed the exhaust header many a time due to many head gasket blow-outs so to me it's not really that big a chore.

Good luck,

Might check the block to see if it cracked. Very odd that the freeze plug blew out without having other issues. You might consider pinning the freeze plugs to hold them in place.
