Does it feel like the trans is not disengaging? You can drive as long as you want with trans unplugged but should know pretty quick if this is the problem.
dfco and tcc command can be seen on a scan tool. That would help in the diagnosis.
it feels like its lugging as i come to a stop, but not sure if thats because its trying to stall...its hard to duplicate this problem as before the other day it happens infrequently and seems to possibly be heat related...if it did it all the time i think it would be easier to diagnose
took car out last night tcc unplugged..stalled on me repeatedly ...only thing i could see was the maf number dropping to 4 just before it stalled....lost on where to look
tps reading was .44..iac is usually high/higher than i like...not sure on exact number....iac is relatively new..its a gm replacement...i guess cleaning it out cant hurt
problem solved...at least for now...drove over to Cottons to buy new MAF sensor as I was tired of playing games with this car...Jack comes out to car tells Brian to grab a new maf sensor, then asks why im replacing it..i explain to him the problem im having..Brian then says, "what are you going to do when this doesn't fix the problem?" My response was "I guess i'll have a spare MAF sensor." Jack starts by popping the cover on my translator and turning the knobs.. then he grabs the adjuster screw for the idle...it had backed itself out quite a bit...after tinkering with it for a few, in between answering two phones, and making small talk, the car idled smoother than it ever has and didnt seem to want to stall ....ive only got about 6 miles on it since, so ill report back on how its running after a long run...couldn't leave without paying for something so my girlfriend got me a $200 gift certificate ..once again with this car, I let my frustration get the best of me and was just gonna throw parts at it, and once again Jack schooled me on how easy it is to deal with the problems that pop up...looks like im gonna have to keep an eye on that screw to make sure it doesn't back out again.....thanks again Jack, and thanks to all who have offered help on this problem and others ive had...this website is a great resource for those who are new to these cars, and those who have had them for a while and get frustrated to the point where they are ready to sell them.
if the iac number is high the throttle blade needs to be openened ,
the tps should have been low .. if you had a tps at .44 someone must have reset it after that screw backed down
ive used locktite on that screw just a drop on the tip after its set, and on the 70mm throttle bodies ill pull the screw toss the spring and replace it with a nut to lock the set screw
jack explained to me that the maf number was low because the throttle blade needed to be opened as you said..the tps was at .44...im thinking loctite might not be a bad idea
