where are the heads..

what is the difference of a gn short block and this ,besides the crank and pistons????

Besides the heads, pistons, crank, and SG1,TTA blocks also have a stamping on the rear driver side of the motor. Should be italisized lettering with the vin unless it is a replacement motor.I have the original block with the lettering:)

no it doesn't ... I have 4 TTA motors here ..VINs are not stamped on them ... oh some were from original cars that I owned and others I worked on when they were new

This is from a GN, but the TTA is in Italicised lettering. Take a good look at your original block.

re: differences

the only difference between a turbo t/a short block and a 86-87 GN short block is about $3000.00 due to the fact that this block is one of 1500+ cars ever made. There is nothing like bolting in an original and correct factory assembled and balanced part now is there.......Dsmith4994@aol.com

Well, I really cant believe that only half of the blocks got the vin.

We'll have to start are own thread in respect to Dsmith4994.

re: numbers

Just to clarify the numbers discussion. This engine has those numbers on the boss and they are in no way as far as i can tell the vin numbers from the car they came out of......nuff said on that topic. Anyone gonna buy this engine so i can dump a ton of money into a turbo buick or something.....David A. Smith
