Fuel Pump

While driving breaking in my motor and putting 50 miles or so out of the blue the pump pressure dropped to 0,I got towed and after a while the car started again and ran for 15 min then died again so changed the relay on the hot wire kit and back on the road.Today it happened again pulled over swaped out of the hot wire kit back to original wire on the car fuel pressure went to 40 and drove home.Im guessing the pump is drawing to much amperage and heating the relay causing it to stop working.Any suggestions??

So if you simply switch the relay it works? Sounds like possibly a bad fuel pump ground or the fuel pump itself.
