I have bought a ton of stuff from Full Throttle, I always recommend them to anyone new to the Buick world and all my transactions have been flawless and delivered in 2 days. That being said I have an issue the way the above transaction was handled. First off I was shocked to see the thumbs down but I read on anyway and I feel that the customer is right to write his displeasure. Im not gonna get into the legal nonsense behind advertised prices but I will get into the "do whats right" aspect. The right thing to have done was to simply honor the original price and then change the website asap. "The customer is always right" expression is really a way to keep that customer from talking to a bunch of his friends/family and telling of a bad transaction. I believe other members may agree with me but may not be comfortable writing about it due to the initial support for Full Throttle. I would have been mad that about the way the order was cancelled and no attempt for direct communication took place. Thats a $55.00 difference and deserves a explanation. Even if Full throttle had taken a few dollars loss in the transaction at the $475.00 price, the loss is really zero when one considers the volume of business. Give someone an inch, they will take a mile! Vendor, the Wife, ur kids, it dont matter who they are.

thank you!!!!!

i have been a f/t customer for some time and they are great....but i also think they should have honered that price specially since he had paid for it.

OK guys I will make one more post on this to set a couple things straight. First of all the customer did NOT pay for the item, he simply placed an order on the website, his credit card was NEVER charged. We do not operate that way. He was given an explanation and an apology in the email that Marianne sent him :
XXXX this order has been canceled due to incorrect pricing on our website. The price on the alky kit is 599.99 including the 3 bar map sensor plus shipping. If you do not require the 3 bar map sensor the price would be $530.00 plus shipping. I apologize for any inconvenience. If you would like to reorder it, please log in and create a new order. Thank you,

Marianne

Like I said before, Julio raised the price, we made an error simple as that, We are very sorry but we are human. I am quite sure that if someone accidentally sent us an extra $100 in payment and I said too bad you should not have made a mistake that things would be very different. No one it trying to cheat or steal here we are the same price as everyone else

Wow

just shows that supporting vendors here get a free pass. If ANYONE here went to Wal-mart and picked up a TV that was posted at $600, went to the counter and it rang up as $650 we would ALL complain demand the 'posted' price. Yet just because it is a vendor here it is different.

Again, I will order from them as they are a great company and do see this as simple error, but posted price is posted price.

Sounds like when i ordered a poss batt cable (not from full throttle) @ 49.95 and then the order was cancelled stating they had actually run out of stock with the qty. listed was 25 only to watch them repost the item @ 99.95. I had a feeling they weren't out of stock and then seeing it reposted for $50 more left a sour taste and i will never do business with that company again. My main disgust was instead of just saying the price was listed incorrectly they lied and said it was out of stock so they wouldn't have to apologize for the mistake. Atleast Mike apologized for they error and didn't lie about the mistake. Mike has been a great vendor but i can see this from both sides so i'm staying on the fence with this one.

Hold up bud... Don't go putting the site into the middle of this... WTF do you expect the board to do about this?

FYI, any vendor will be quick to tell you we do not protect them. We do not delete threads etc... to keep things quiet. I can think of several boards that if you say the least thing wrong about a SUPPORTING vendor it gets deleted and if you resist you get BANNED...

You said it yourself it was a simple error... I can promise you Mike tried to make it right somehow I feel sure... Julio still got a sale so it doesn't effect him either way...

Just don't spout off ignorant comments and think no one will check you on them...

LOL you're kidding right? Vendors here can do no wrong in the eyes of many of the members. Look in the ALKY section and watch what happens if someone asks a question about Cooling Mist or Devils Own or any other company. Go to the suspension section and ask about a different sway bar besides HR (which is funny since the Sphon is available at another SUPPORTING vendor). It's always the same, people jump on you just for asking about a product that isn't from a supporting vendor for no other reason then that it isn't from 'so and so company'. And the ONLY reason many of them give to buy from certain companies is that it IS from 'so and so company'!!!!

Try posting a bad experience from a supporting vendor..like hmmm...THIS ONE!!!! Look what happens. People are treating this guy like it is HIS fault. It isn't. He didn't price it. He isn't the one that didn't honor the posted price. Yet it's his fault? Simple error from the company? Yeah, still not the OPs fault though.

A guy has a bad experience with G-body a few months ago and he was practiaclly ATTACKED by defenders of G-body.

Now, if you are reading that to say the ACTUAL board gives them the pass (i.e. YOU), don't. I was referring to the members. Sorry about that. I shouldv'e made that clear.

It was not an ignorant comment. It was a fair one and I could link all the threads where people have gotten dog piled for posting a bad experience with a supporting vendor.

But this is about THIS experience.

Okay, but now you have said the wrong thing now IMO...

Get your flame suit on...

I don't know what you except from such a tight knit community...

First person that can prove me wrong is more then welcome to. However, since you yourself said that threads aren't deleted, the proof is out there that I am more then right.

I expect people to be adults and recognize that ANY company is capable of screwing up and it is PERFECTLY OK for someone to post their experieces with them. Good or bad. Heck, we should WANT people to post all experiencs for the reason I posted earlier.

sorry guys, not trying to start a war on here, and dont want to see anybody get in trouble. should have just kept it to myself.

No. you were right to post about it.

Now, Full Throttle has apoligized, so good on them. Resolved to me. BUT the people jumping on you as if it is your fault is wrong.

I am not "jumping" on him. If you would be on these boards longer than 6 months months you would see that the feedback section gets abused by some members. Some people are quick to post problems before they tell the whole story or just pick up the phone and get some answers to their questions.

Did you not read the email that Marianne sent him? Its self explanatory. FTS is not Walmart. A numerical mistake on the site should not equate Mike taking a loss of income. They are not a multi-million dollar corporation. And yes this community takes care of its vendors..they take care of us. Try ordering parts for our cars on Summit or Jegs website.

I've bought a lot of stuff over the years from all of the vendors. I've had a couple of transactions that didn't go the way I'd hoped or expected. However, I have never seen fit to go on the boards and criticize any vendor. Even if I'm not happy, it just can do too much damage to the vendor. Doesn't seem fair to me. I always try to straighten things out with the vendor and it usually gets straightened out to my satisfaction.
I will add that I have always had excellent experiences buying from Mike Licht. In my opinion he is the best. I would never expect Mike to take a loss on a sale because of an oversite on his website.

Wow .....My take..Mike can run his business anyway he pleases, it's his business. But, 87TT also has the right to express his experience with this business b/c of a failed transaction due to a pricing error. According to some, FT is not WallyWorld, yes this is true..But,consider this...You & I have agreed upon a price for a rare part, your at my door to pick it up when I tell you I made an error and it's now $60 higher. How is this really any different...Would you be upset..I bet you would. Would you tell your friends about it...well thats what he is doing. Bashing and faulting is not really needed on either side. Just my view, as I can understand both sides.

Speaking of WalMart price mistakes: few years ago I was in the market for a Magnavox 27" TV. Ten stores I went to listed this certain model for $499. The last store I went to that evening was WalMart, looking for this certain Magnavox. There it was sitting on the showroom floor for $239!!!! I double checked to see if it was the $499 TV...it was. I called the manager over and asked it he will sell me this TV for $239..He said yes. I pulled out a piece of paper, writing down this manager's name and stated he would sell me this TV for $239 and he signed it. I went home, got my Jeep, came back and bought it for $239. When I came back he said it was a mistake by one of his employees, it was supposed to be for $489, but since the sign said $239, he'll sell it at that price. Wow. And to top it off....I dropped the damn thing hauling it out to my Jeep, even thought it was in a box...I asked the manager if he would exchange it for me on the spot since I dropped it and don't know if I damaged it or not....he said...no problem....brought me out a new Magnavox just like it. This happened in 1995 and I STILL HAVE IT. IT STILL WORKS PERFECTLY!!! It's in our bedroom. It works too good, as I wish I could get a flat screen but why replace a perfectly good TV? My point is, I bought a great TV for half price due to a mistake, and the manager did not give me any crap at all over this. First time for me. Well, anyway, Full Throttle is tops with me, never a problem with them, they are top notch. I will always buy from them. Very, very efficient folks. Mike and his wife, you're terrific. Love my scanmaster. Thanks for the sale price on it!!

I see your point but Id be very surprised if at the end of the day selling that part he makes more than $20. With that being said I wouldnt have sold that part knowing it would be a negative sale. A good option would be to give the customer a great deal on another part for future modding.

+1 Sorry... I couldn't hold back from posting since this is a feedback section of a public board and the customer is correct. However, I would not hesitate to buy from Mike.
