FYI: 86/87 oil cooler adapter O-ring discontinued

This may be old news.....but it was kinda irritating to me. So, after calling around for hours, I find out that the O-ring that seals between the oil cooler ring and the oil filter housing is discontinued.

There are currently 9 left in GM parts inventory, excluding the 2 that I just picked up. I don't know if this is something that can be matched up with another part if you take the old one in to Napa or something....

They are available in an oil cooler adapter kit in the help section at Oreilly's Auto Parts. I have gotten quite a few

I have bought this (and other "O" rings) at Crown Products.

Or you strip them off of old oil filters when you change the oil.
