I know the answer will vary. I was just curious to see how much a cracked header can hurt performance. I.E. 60ft times and ETs

TIA

You should be able to reach maximum boost, but your car will be pretty lazy getting there. Yes, this will hurt performance.

Not only will it hurt spoolup, but it will also cause the O2 sensor to read more oxygen which would then cause the ecm to add more fuel, which would further hurt spoolup and gas mileage...

Like quarter mile times and gas mileage??? Well, to tell you the truth, we've all had the cracked header problem...I don't know what else we could tell you about it other than your car won't run right if you leave it that way...It needs to be fixed, period...Scantools don't lie...The BLMs and INTs will be all over the place(out of spec) and fueling will be all wrong...

Other than that, I don't know what to tell you...

My car has run 11.80s on a cracked header. I know the turbo will spool better after I fix the crack, but will the ET get any better?? The car had no problem hitting full boost with the cracked header. So I am not sure if the car will pick up much beside maybe 60ft or so. My car has a Max Effort, so I do not think the car will run any different because the O2 is not used and the fuel curve is hard coded

I am in the process of fixing the header right now. I just wanted to see if anybody had any before and after results when they fixed the header. What did you your car pick up after you fixed your header?

I had a small crack on the driver's side and had hard time building boost off the line.

Ahhh, ok, I see what you are asking...heheh, why didn't you say so in the first place!!! Just kidding...

Actually, I really don't know how much it would help or hurt you...I think at the times you are running and your setup, you *might* start to benefit some by switching to aftermarket headers...But you should probably talk to one of the guru's about your setup and future goals and maybe they could give you some more ideas...

Good luck...

I was not planning gaining much except for better spool up. Not sure if that would equate to a better ET or not. I just figured I would post here to see if anybody got a better ET after they fixed their cracked header. Thanks for the replies though.

With a max effort, your gains would be less than someone using a chip that needs O2 sensor input to properly fuel the car. You can "get away with" having a crack more than others.
