gauge wiring

I am installing VDO gauges on my hot air. On the oem oil sending unit there are 3 wires, I know one has to operate the light in dash but what are the other 2 wires for? Is there anything that needs to be connected to these wires after I wire in the new sending unit? I read somewhere that these are tied in to the starter circuit but Im having trouble finding info

Two of the wires power the fuel pump relay with normal oil pressure.
