got it all the way down to the oil return line and it wont let go and I know all Hardware is off. its just floppin aroun but i cant pull it off. I thought about pryin up on it with somthin but dont want to damage anythin. So my question is HOW? do i gotta take the 2 bolts holdin the line to the center section off? they look like a biotch to even try on the car. Does the line just pop in and out of (im guessin the oil pan) kinda like the dipstick tube. Thanks

there are only 2 bolts on the passanger side and one next to the adapter seal that hold the turbo in place really, beaides the up/downpipe. If its flopping around, its prolly fung up on thee oil return as you said. Sometimes it takes a good pull to get it out. I just took mine off today and i had to yank on it to break it loose. However, if you want to reuse the turbo pul return, Be gentle :)

the oil return tube goes back into the intake, through a hard rubber grommet directly under the turbo...The tube utself is only about 6" long. It just needs to be worked back and forth, until it comes out...be firm, but be gentle!

just come around from the drivers side
reach around from behind the turbo , and feel the flexible tube down to the back of the intake.
there is justa rubber grommet, that it sets in.
it looks identical to the rubber grommet that the pcv valve uses, justa lil larger.
i would just wiggle it back n forth while pulling upwards
it should come out,
just dont get mad and start yankin it :D

put a lil grease inside the grommet, for an easier install, and also make it easier to pull out, if u need to take it out again :D

heck, id even use some white grease on the adapter o rings when re-installing, to make sure they don't slide dont when pounding the turbo back on ;)

Usually these Turbos are on there very tight (O-rings expand with heat) I like to lay a pry bar on the intake manifold, and lay the end on the compressor housing. With just some light pressure the Turbo should pop right out.

Some pressure/force is ok on the housings..but nothing except air should touch the impeller blades.

thanks for the help guys. thats what i was thinkin of doin. I just wanted to make sure sure that there were no bolts or nuts on the other end of the return line. Lot different setup than my 78 and that was 5-6 years ago when i had that one off last
