Is there anyone around the Houston, TX area that does a good, decently priced job on powdercoating/high temp. coating on the turbo exhaust housing? I have a new Precision turbo and want it coated before installing it.

Call some of the local powdercoat shops. Most of them apply
some sort of ceramic coating. You do not want hi temp powder.

exhaust housing

i sent my DP and exhaust housing to JetHot for the black 2000 deg coating. i should get it back this week. i just didn't want to look at rust and my DP is mild steel that i have a few hours in.....................Bob

The black coating tends to have higher heat range and
they are easier to apply. ( Cheaper)......

Polydyn is good stuff. They have a couple of blacks I think. I just got some stuff back from them today. Their titanium color. I have also had stuff coated this color by them . I like it. Boy does it eliminate alot of heat. Dropped 40 degrees underhood and I can grab the pipes 5 minutes after a run.

Anything looks better than rust!...

That black really looks good on some set ups.

discostu, the gold is what I am getting the exhaust housing done in and my turbo shield is getting done in cobalt, a shade of black but a little light. The gold looked pretty trick when viewed at different angles.

you would pick GOLD, wouldnt ya?;)

I HPC'd everything and for some reason they didn't want to coat the inside of the exhaust housing on the turbo but did my headers???

So my headers look great and 3.5" DP but my turbo is starting to turbo orange from rusting.
Maybe 2500 miles on it. :(

The only reason I had it coated the gold color, is unlike some other people the GOLD will be hidden under the hood and turbo shield:biggrin: Also, he told me it dissipates heat better, less expensive than the shiny.

GNVYUS 1, I had the option to get the inside coated but decided not to because I didn't want any clearance issues with the exhaust wheel. Decided to go the safe route.

hey Craig do you have a link to pics of the "gold" color.... i have never seen this before... is it supposed to retain the color or does it dull over time, turning into a tan?

PS its about damn time you installed the turbo AND Where the He!! are my pics of the brakes and powertour:mad:

Playa, I have had your CD of pics for over 3 weeks just don't think of sending it. I don't have a pic of the gold color but it's pretty sweet looking because it is kind of an iridescent gold. I haven't gotten u a pic of the brakes bc the woman has my charger which I have to use to transfer to my comp.:frown:
