Does anyone have a source for the best deal on GM weatherstripping?

I want to start collecting parts for my car for when I decide to have the paint and bodywork done.
As we all know it wont be cheep but I do want to use GM weatherstripping and didn't know if there is a good source that has better prices than most.

Any help is appreciated!:)

Purchased Mine From Local Gm Dealership. They Did Give A Bit Of A Discount, But Still Have Approx 800.00 In W-strips..

I have the gm roof rails for sale in parts section with pics.I bought them from kirban.Thes will only work if your car is a hard top or moonroof.$400 shipped. Thanks,Mike

Thanks for all the info guys!

How do the kirban and other aftermarket ones fit? I know some say to go with GM cause everything else is not the same.....or as good?

Not sure how the aftermarket ones fit, I have a brand new still in the box pair of roof rail seals for around the windows that I yet to try and install, so I don't know how well they will fit. They are Metro seals. My stock seals are still in pretty good shape yet.

I was told but Im not forsure the aftermarket ones dont have the metal wires in them were gm ones have some wires in the rubber if it calls for it for support.Just what I have been told.Has for the rubber being more durable or better quality I never got to compare a aftermarket and gm side by side.

Go with the OEM Only!

Just my two cents but I would definetly only use the OEM Genuine GM pieces...yes they can be expensive but it's the old saying you get what you pay for. The aftermarket ones are much thinner and fit OK but not like the quality, fit and finish of Genuine OEM GM parts. I think you are smart buying them now and putting them away evern if you are not replaceing them right away because as Dennis Kirban always says stuff is getting discontinued montly by GM...so get them while you can.

Both Dianna at Kirban Performance and Glen AT NOS4GN are EXCELLENT sources for these seals and most likely have them in stock or can get them quick. No worries dealing with these guys! Check out their websites. Good luck.

Thanks Mike,

But I probably wont be doing anything until after the holidays.:frown:

I bought OEM GM stuff from Kirban- Very expensive, perfect fit.

I bought Aftermarket SofSeal brand for the roof rail and around the underside of the door. Super cheap, ok fitment, The rubber is actaully harder or more firm than the GM stuff but where you will see the difference in quality is in the 90 degree angle at the top of the roof rail- the GM one is solid and fits perfect, the aftermarket piece is less solid at this junction-not really a big deal.

The other spot where quality is a small concern is the in the ends. The GM pieces have a hard plastic insert under the rubber that keep the ends from ripping when you put the screws or tabs to hold them in. The aftermarket are only flimsy rubber and will rip easily.

While I prefer the GM for the fit and finish, if you do not have a show car, go with the cheap stuff, you can replace it several times over before you ever get close to the price of OEM GM.
