GN appraisal done

So I've owned my 87 GN for something like 13-1/2 years now. I think I'm on the 5th engine, the 3rd tranny rebuild, 2nd paint job, etc, I've been wanting to get it professionally appraised, but something always happens, like the headliner drops, the seat tears, or other stupid cosmetic things.
Finally, the planets aligned!
So at the 115,068 mile mark, it appraised at $22,000. I'm very happy, seeing that I paid $7500 for it [I'll overlook the ~$20k I've put into it over the years].
Has anyone else had this done? What numbers are you seeing?

I've been needing to get this done for insurance purposes. Who did you get to do it? I was told by my insurance that a bodyshop or carlot could do it. Is this correct?

We have a classic car dealer here in Vegas that does it. $149 for insurance purposes.
I would suggest finding something similar instead of just a body shop.

I would try and find a company that is nationally known and specially know by your Ins. Company.
The last thing you want /need is some Ins. BS OHH that’s not good enough this is what we needed.

Actually my ins. co <state farm> gave me a form for an appraisal and said I could take it to a "body shop or dealership" and have it filled out. Sounded kinda lame, which is why I haven't did it yet. Kinda like what was mentioned earlier, after having an accident or theft, they're like..."oh, well thats not good enough"

Let Richard at the GSCA. He knows Buicks as good or better than anyone and he's a NADA certified appraisser. Your insurance company will accept it also.

From the standpoint of a wrecker service, I can say that State Farm is one of the best insurance companies to deal with. They were the only insurance company I could find that would insure my Buick for an agreed upon value, so I switched to them. It is insured at $24k, wait till I call them to tell them about the $20k motor/trans combo that is going into it. They are going to pass out!
