Well that title is not nearly as bad as the rash of stupid titles finding there way to the tech sections.

Dig these rules on AR15.com; copied from a poster named Aimless:

6-Please use thread titles that give some indication what the thread is about. For example if your new Hellblast light does not work try "Hellblast light broke" vs. "well this sucks" or "what do you think about this" Using generic thread titles will make it less likely that someone who if familiar with light (or whatever) will see thread, also the thread will not show up in SEARCH later when someone else encounters the same problem.

My first thought when somebody titles a thread - Need Help Fast - My first thought is: try telling us what the main issue is first, then the details...

I dont know of much that can beat a helicopter except maybe a faster helicopter.

I know what you mean. I don't understand why people don't properly title their posts. Take a look at the General Turbo Tech Forum, here's some of the brilliant titles on the front page:

-Hey
-found a problem
-Looking for all the help I can get
-Need some help quick

WTF?

GN in police chase on TV - beats helicopter!!!

Well that sure got me in here faster then

"Chickens on freeway film at eleven!"...Les Nesman reporting

Man, I was all excited. Then I thought , uh oh I hope they didn't get my tag number!

Ok, so who here has successfully got away from a smokey? I was racing a GN on the outskirts of Bowling Green Kentucky during the week of Buick meet. We exited off onto Natcher and we were really letting them rip. At about 140mph I look up and see blue lights in my rear view mirror. I kept it hammered, the guy was racing didn't see the cop, he thought I was still racing, but at this point I was running. I started pulling at 150mph. Got off at the next exit and nailed it, again the dude thought I was racing, so he's aniling it too. I pulled into the first subdivision and slowed down (I knew the lay of the land, which is important when running, so I was slowed down to the posted limit here being safe once we got into the subdivision). Here comes the dude with a buddy, rolling the window down they are like," that was awesome dude" and laughing and stuff. I said, you realize a cop was chasing us? they had no clue. Luckily we got far enough ahead that the cop must of kept going.
I was shakin like crazy! Top end runs are fun, but not with blue lights behind. Really had to run though, I'm pretty sure they pull your ride for those kinds of speeds.

Big time, reckless driving, anything 25 or 30 over is court, they tow ya, maybe arrest ya if the cop is a prik..wouldnt even want to add all that up

Yeah, especailly racing at those speeds. Though, we were not near any other traffic. In my then 20 year old mind thought it was fine. I still street race, but only when I'm way out of town. Which is easy to do in Tennessee and Kentucky area.

I think you guys missed the purpose of this thread!! Great story about running from the cops though!!

na just got off the beaten path a little..I agree.
I dont look much for headlines that read "Hey I need help"
either and it does not help the search function when im looking

Believe it or not, most helicopters you see are pretty slow. The average UH-1 will barely make 100 mph in practical use.... most of the time its probably slower than that. The Bell 206 that you often see police and news stations use isn't much faster.

The advantage is never having to slow down for traffic, curves, etc :)

And I might add that a more or really detailed description of what you need or want really helps too. Not every TR is a 87 GN. And most of the time there are more than one version of the part.

For example. If a chopper beats your GN we need to know that it was hot air GN and that the bird was a Hughes Jet Ranger in order for us to help you not make the same mistake twice.

Running from the cops...

In Texas is a Felony=Time in ass-raping prison. Not worth it if you ask me.....but it sure is exciting chasing them down...then "carefully" removing them from the car through the vent window.......

Still a stupid thing to run...my .02

Thanks!!

At least the whole world can see it now. It used to be hosted on a web site that would always freak my anti-virus out.

More useless thread subjects from the general tech forum:

Couple questions
The fuel pump gods have spoken
Who sells....
Convertor question

It certainly would be helpful if the authors of those threads actually took a minute to properly title their thread so that people can properly search if/when they have a similiar issue.
