I've wanted a Grand National as long as I have known what they were when I was a kid... I'm a current 2002 Z06 owner and with them it is simple. Start at $30k and go down for each imperfection. What is the deal with pricing of Grand Nationals??? I want an 87 that needs very little work to share time with the Z06 as a daily driver type of car. I see prices that are absolutely all over the place for what seem like very very similar cars. Could anybody out there please help me out a little bit and explain why there is such a variation in price on these things?? Thanks a bunch!

We've been looking for another Turbo Regal as well. The 87's seem to hold their value a little better than an '86 in similar condition/mileage. The GN's also seem to carry a premium over the T Types and Turbo T's.

If you're looking for a really clean one with under 50k miles that is stock or lightly modded, it will usually have a $17 - 20k asking price.

If you find out any information, let me know! I've been trying to figure out the pricing as well.

There alot of nice cars for sale on the board right now... Are you looking a stocker or a modified car? I agree with the prices above. Anything under 50K miles should be above 15K!

Don't use a GN as a daily driver. You could park the GN and Z06 side by side in a mall parking lot, and when you come back out the GN will be gone. Also, using a 20 year old car as a DD usually doesn't work out too well. If you know how to work on these cars, then it can be done.

I amlooking for either stock or modified (correctly and not a hack job). I would like a mid 11 sec car or better when all is said and done. Whether I do it myself or buy it already started is going to be decided by what kind of deals show up.

I looked for over a year and half when I bought mine, years ago...

You really have to know what you are buying with these cars. Price means nothing until you actually go and check out the car. There were guys selling cars with 100k miles, asking top buck b/c they know the car is rare.

I waited it out and bought mine from a guy who was building a large house, and his wife wanted the car gone ASAP. It was bone stock at the time.

I agree with the above; disregard using these cars as daily drivers. Up North, it will be stolen in a matter of time...

I like your tastes in cars. I have a 2001 Z06, 87 GN and 87 Turbo T:biggrin:

The only problem is figuring out which one to drive. Wife thinks I'm crazy cuz I'll debate with myself for 30 minutes on the merits of each car given current weather conditions, my mood, and do I really want to start on to get it out of the way of the other to back out of the garage...

Prices seems to be all over the place because a jacked up car on Barret J went for around $30k when it should have realisticly sold for about $11k...so now you have some folks with beaters asking primo prices when the market just ain't there yet.... If you want something to drive alot,,you can find GNs or T's for anything from $8k-$15k...they will need fresh paint with 100k miles...if you want something nicer, then around $15k-$20k will get you a nice one you won't regret driving on the w/e...drive it anymore and it WILL get stolen in a matter of time if left out of your view...all it takes is a tow truck with pick up forks and about 45 seconds.

Thanks for the help guys... I am officially in the GN market and willing to accept any donations. It sounds a lot like buying a Vette actually. Lots of things to look for that you seem to find out AFTER you buy it!

True statement. You leave that GN in a parking lot, and that thing's going to disappear immediately.

Wow, life must really suck for you. I'm sorry to hear about your struggles. If there's anything I can do, to help you get rid of the source of your problems, let me know, I'll bus in, and drive it home if need be. For free too.

I bought mine in January for $7800, miles are orig, (at least I have documentation that supports it) car has a few dings, scratches, a bad paint job, was hit-but owner swore it wasn't. It needs the regular things a 20 year old car from the north east needs, exhaust, brakes, fuel tank, etc including coil, and all the tune up stuff. Turbo Regal Web Site has a really good buyers guide, wish I had read there first, take a look. If you buy stock plan on $2800-3500 to get into the 11's, at least that's what I calculated.

LoL, I work from the house so I rarely even get to drive around...
