The way I see it the " protection" given to G Body Brian is not going to go away anytime soon... Deal with it, I do. Brian and I have exchanged words about his unprofessional dealings with people in the public forums before. HE IS NOT GOING AWAY PEOPLE. I have never purchased anything from G Body and don't intend too. I just choose to spend my money where I am treated with respect and professionalism and suggest that others do the same. If you get that from Brian, good for you. For those that don't, use your wallet to send the message by purchasing elsewhere. I feel so strongly about this topic that I did not even enter the " GIVEAWAY car contest " as TO ME it was just an over-hyped blatant self-promotion of GBodyParts. Yes .. what he and others did to raise the money for TFT was a GREAT thing but don't think for a minute that there is not a line on a tax return for charitable contributions write-off for ALL of the vendors that participated, it's standard business practice. This cat-fight over the china parts isn't going to end anytime soon either. I have no first-hand knowledge of ANY of his parts and have no comment about them nor do I really care, but I really wish this would get put to rest one way or the other as I have grown tired of hearing all of the BS about it. If you have a POSITIVE comment about a vendor post it. If you have an issue with a vendor please take it up PRIVATELY until such time as the vendor stops being responsive or professional. I am not one to stick-up for Brian for anything and am not doing so now... but ponder this. I don't know just how big of an operation Brian has going but evidently it's rather large. I have seen people bashing him for not shipping parts fast enough or wrong parts being shipped, etc. ALL vendors, suppliers, re-sellers that do any REAL volume of shipping of any item( not just our community ) WILL have issues with delivery of those items. Be it the shipping company, an employee ( or lack of ) employees calling in sick or just not showing up to work, a box with the wrong label from a manufacturer or any of 100 other reasons. The willingness to resolve the issue is what sets one apart from the other. Coming on a public forum to b!tch about shipping without contacting the vendor is a slap-in-the-face to the vendor for all to see and this needs to stop! Do you really think that Brian is going to put you on top of the list after that? The b!tching by and between vendors also needs to stop! People that abuse this need a vacation. Make an effort to resolve your problems BEFORE posting.
Sorry for the long read.
Bryan
First of all I don't know what others are writing off but I donated quite a few things and I am not writing off anything.... I am sure some things are but this is business and how people make a living. Even if you do write it off it isn't a 100% write off. Even if Brian does write off some parts how do you explain the COUNTLESS HOURS he personally put in. HUNDREDS, I am sure. Daniel is another perfect example. I don't care what he might write off but I happen to know just some of the time he has put into this car. Hell he drove up here twice. How about J Banning and Charlie, all the hours they put in personally, can't write that off. They did it because they wanted to help Brian and the KIDS, again the whole point! Mike and his wife donated PERSONALLY not through Full Throttle. Peter Ricks flew out and help with the car while he was here, even donated a turbo. I could continue on for days about that.
THAT WAS A CHEAP SHOT BUD! With that attitude I am glad you didn't participate and have a chance to win. You have no idea what was involved in this thing! Did you offer to help? Many members did, Many! THANKS GUYS BTW!!!
Far as vendors and protection for vendors from TurboBuick.com. I do not know how many times I have to say this but.... TurboBuick.com does not protect vendors. If an issue comes up which it will inevitably will, we do not protect vendors. We try to keep it as civilized as possible. Nothing gets edited or deleted as long as it falls in the posted rules.
When the problem arises is when an individual has a problem with a vendor and continues to harass that vendor repeatedly. If you posted a thread and it is over why jump into every thread involving that vendor and turn it ugly. You can voice your opinion but do it in your own threads. Do not taint others threads with your dislike for a particular vendor.
Most vendors on this board has had a customer they couldn't satisfy for one reason or another. But for every 1 unsatisfied customer there are hundreds of satisfied customers. Members new and old can call the vendors talk to them for themselves, read the feed back forums and make their own decisions.
Vendors pay the bills here, yes. We don't have a free server or free bandwidth. We have never asked for or taken donations! Even though we don't protect them we do feel they are owed a certain amount of respect. I apprecaite what they do for TurboBuick.com and the turbobuick community as a whole.
A little peace in 08 would be nice, Happy New Year:biggrin:
