I like this part of that kids rant

the GN was a buzz car nothing more, the GNX on the other hand was a FAST car, namely because of the upgraded suspension, and the fact that the motor was supremely under-rated at 277hp.

I saw that too. I let it go. I didnt have the heart to tell him the only difference was pretty much some ceramic on the turbo and some fine tuning

I'm literally right next door to Lapeer, I offered him a race with my brother's BONE STOCK t-type. It's been 13.30 with drag radials on it when the former owner had it, I'm certain we'll make it go faster than that.

The guy is only 20 years old, he's just a kid and he doesn't really know any better. It's just irritating when someone makes such an opinionated and abrasive post when he's obviously clueless. He's read a lot about cars but he hasn't even been out of the 14's, so he clearly doesn't know ****.

I already planned on going to some of the Motown Muscle events anyways. I hope the guy shows up to one.

doubt it. Motown muscle meets are 90% mustangs, so it is fun anyways. Well... unless livernois brings one of their cars.

Yea, thats why Im usually pretty quiet on MM. I never knew there were that many people over there who had, or even liked buicks so I never jumped into the conversations. I knew they were mostly Mustang crowds

I think the kid is on to something

I waste lots of money on my GN, and I have no power...because GAS is too !@#$ing expensive!!!

its idiots like that, that make me embarrased to own a chevy. i ran a 15.3 with a basically bone stock 305 thats well used and that clown only managed a 14.6 ? lol with that said i may own a chevy but i never want to be grouped in as a chevy guy!

moron

Who stuck something up that guy's butt?

Sounds like he likes it like that. Don't ask don't tell :D

An idiot. The TR was the single best thing from the 80's while all the v8's were lame. Plus they had comfort and power. Most cars in that era did not have either one of them traits. Now days the v8 rules and the same principal applied to them with forced induction can make insane numbers but the TR had alot to do with bringing in the FI applications. Guy probably lived in a trailer park and his step mom drove a mullet mobile and he could not afford a car much less a gn and was just hating.

t-typex1 the hell with the slow stang im tire of hearing the chevy and mustang guy talking their s**t just remember back in the days the only car that can take on are gn;s was the really the viper high 12's the zr1chevy was running 13.20 or so and to remind you that was in the gnx,89tta,and gmc syclone time zone. So think about zo6 late 90's and still high 12's to low 13's time, that bull **** those cars can blow me. TO ME BUICK MUSCLE IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO DRIVING WITH CLASS

I threw up a couple of articles on the 86GN. For some reason the jpg's won't show up?? Ah, well....the kid is a tool. I do believe jealousy is the main motivator here...

haha yeah, i was one of the first guys to pint out that guys error, hes just a misinformed idiot. ill give the MCSS credit, it sounds better than a GN, if you dont count the sound of the turbo, thats about it

I had people ask that s hit way back in my street racing days.

Dolt: "You got a 3/4 cam in that thing?"
Me: "No. I put the whole cam in."

I use to manage an autoparts store when I was in college (back in '80-'82) and my brother worked in a machine shop. He took a REAL flat sbc cam (remember how they ALL went flat back then?) and cut 1/4 off of it. I had it in my store under the counter. Three guys came in to the store one day (and it was a bit slow) and they were asking about hot rod parts for their Chevy. They wanted a 3/4 cam. I pulled the "3/4 cam" out from under the counter, and showed it to them. The leader of the pack, looked very closely at it and stated "WOW!!!! look at those RADICAL lobes!!!" The other two guys were admiring their buddies VAST knowlege of race car parts. Then I pulled the other 1/4 out form under the bench, and said "Now if you REALLY want to make BIG power, you put the other 1/4 in your engine!" The two "on-lookers" started ROARING and slapping thier buddies head. Priceless.

I was going to post pictures of my "Twin Turbo-GNX-FBI, high speed persuit car on that website, but figured I would have to answer too many questions. It is a REAL GNX with twin turbos that was offered only to the FBI. I painted it blue/green, so it doesn't get stolen. ;)

My 4200 pound 96 Caprice with a LT1 ran 14.64 at 96 mph with just a Walker catback exhaust. At that time it had 150,000 miles on it.
