found decal kit on phoenix graphics $300, ouch ,any other companies make them less expensive?

Hmmm, I'd be tempted to go without the decals. It looks pretty clean without them. I see a 2+2 occasionally on the ride to work on I-26. Kind of a rare sighting.

I agree, it does look smooth now, with the decals it answered alot of questions on what it was,one guy i remember thought it was a new car lol...im just going for the original look.....

my mom has one that will be handed down to me (she will probably take this one over when she sees it!!)my plans are to paint it black and put my 87 motor/turbo in it!! then ill have to get ready to answer questions........

????? ?????

I've owned many a G-body and IMO the TR's are the best handling of the bunch. When the going gets tough all I have to do is lay in some gas and its oversteer city. Try doing that with your 150HP! I invented the so-called sport of drifting when I took my GN to its first autocross back in the 80's!

Clean looking car BTW.

im not sure what came on this car as far as suspention, but it out handles any g-body i ever drove....it takes corners without any lean...it came with all body mounts too, sway bar is the biggest ive ever seen...you just have to drive one to appreciate it...if it would have gotten a real motor of some kind, the story of these cars would have been different...

turbofish38, the Grand Prix came w/ all of those F41 suspension parts Buick left off ours....and drifting in Japan has been around since the seventies.
Cool car :D Got any bigger pics? I would leave it alone exterior wise - may throw in a GN motor and get that power you wanted :P

thanks for backing me up, ive owned six turbo regals and gns, nothing handles like the 2+2 in stock form...dont get me wrong, thats the only thing it has going for it(and how rare it is)buicks will always be my favorite......like i said before, the other 2+2 will get a turbo motor and a cooler paint job one day.......will take more/better pics when all the details are done(tires, stripes, black out trim, reinstall the missing grille, etc, etc)

Open up the GM parts catalog and you'll find the GP F41 suspension uses the same size bars as the GN FE3. So what, it has the rear seat brace welded in and 3 extra braces on the frame. That just makes the body stiffer, doesn't do chit for the frame flex. If anything the GP has slightly stiffer springs. I'd take the HP of a GN for all of the braces and the extra weight of that back glass anyday. Its the car that makes it to the finish line first and it aint going to be a bone stock GP.

BTW my drifting comment was sarcasim. For all I know Henry Ford was the first to drift when he forget to lift off the gas coming out of his drive one cold winter morning back in 1903. Those Japaneese boys aint got nothing on us Americans. Look back at some of those early Indy 500 films and you see a lot of drifting going on. Same with the old NASCAR races on the beach at Daytona. One thing is for sure, it aint the fastest way around the track.

dern dude, the grand prix 2+2 handles great, yeah its power sucks, weve already established that??????????cant we all get along and respect everyones options?geezz...calm down my turbo buick brother....

I was always a closet admirer of the 2+2. I remember seeing quite a few in my area when they were new but couldn't grasp the fact that they were very expensive as they came loaded from the factory.

I recall seeing the 2+2 for the first time at the '86 New York Auto Show and it had the MCSS dual exhaust on it. It was my impression that it also had the 305HO in it.

A fellow board member has a 2+2 that is highly modified with a 502BBC w/ 6sp that runs in high speed events in Texas.

cool, the 2+2 with a bb, 6sp,is impressive...........any pics somewhere??

nice car, very rare have you ever thought about maybe changeing the motor out for a gn  , talk about a sleeper huh.

just to clear things up a bit, we have two 2+2's....this one is going back to original, the other 2+2 is a 250 thousand mile beater,it will (hopefully)get my turbo 6 ......thought about painting it solid black,a company called laurens enginering make a tastefull ground effects kit,no decals or emblems, black tinted windows(tinting that large back glass dark makes it look 100% better),and a tastefull set of wheels/tires.....should make a unique and evil ride.....
