I sold my old 86' T Type in 2002. A friend of mine has had it since and used it for a driver. Needless to say it's went quite down hill cosmetically. It's been backed into and in a pretty bad hail storm. Needs rear bumper fillers, trunk lid, and hood. The interior looks pretty bad too. It's great mechanically.

So anyway, I'm thinking of buying a parts Regal to get the parts I need. I've ran up on a couple NA cars that have very nice interior. My car is brown with tan bucket/console interior with blackout package. I'm going to re do the interior and paint it as soon as I can.

Paint - Should I put it back the original color or change it? It's an odd color, I do like it, but thought about changing it.

Interior - If I buy a parts car with a different color interior I could change that stuff easy or find the tan stuff.

Wheels - I'm a little tired of the T wheels. I'm thinking Weld Pro Stars or some Torq Thrust's.

Here of some pics of the old rag, what do you guys think?

im pretty sure that is a rare color, ( its ugly) LOL id change it with the tan interior you have alot of options.

Keep the original color body and interior, REMOVE the GN spoiler, and maybe get some black rims. Maybe also a black 87 grill, it will go good with your W02

kirban 2 cents worth

Being a 1986 and such a rare color and appears to be fairly well optioned if you plan to sink big money into it, the best value at the end is keeping the color combo.

I agree those elite color interiors are very tough to maintain my 87 turbo-t has a almost the same color.

Your on the rite track find a complete Regal parts car 84-87 so you can scrounge up the common stuff.....then make your decision.

Just my thoughts.

be curious if you have the trunk ID label post it under my thread minus the last 7 digits of vin can figure out most of the codes as you have a fairly rare car.

Leave it looking rough and sink all your money into Go Fast parts...lol!

Are you saying if I take a pic of the trunk ID label you might can decode most of the options to see how rare the car may be? Where would I post it if so. Thanks

Keep the color!!! It rocks! Everyone has black already. This is one of the first brown ones I've seen...

SWEET! Been a long time brother. I think I still have an extra set of T wheels, but I'll have to look. I know I don't have any center caps though.

Get rear fillers, 87 grille and drag radials  . That thing is a Sleeper. Also get window tint . I would sink my money into the drivetrain.

I've been thinking of what to do to it mechanically. It has 009 injectors, 3" THDP, Hooker Exhaust, Red Armstrong pump, hot wire kit, volt booster, adj. fuel reg, Internals, turbo, and IC are stock. I know I'm gonna do Razor's Alky kit, I had one on my last car and loved it.

Speaking of sleepers, this was my last TR about 5 years ago. Bench seat (not even a split one), NO Tilt, radio delete, manual windows and locks. I had a lot of fun with that car.
