Ok, Never had them on before and I picked up a set.. How do they go on? From where to where?

Thanks!

The V shaped ends hook into notches in the grille bottom on either side of the grille. The round ends hook into round holes in the top of the bumper reinforcement. Effectively, the springs "pull" the grille toward the bumper.

Grille springs..................

I have found that springs from manual seat tracks work great as grill springs !!! They even look the same! :D

'bye!

Claude :)

They are still available from GM as well. I don't remember the part #, but your GM rep can look it up.

Grill return springs. 1984 to 1986 Regal Coupe: GM part number 25516618. You might try to find used or shop around as suggested retail is $19.92 apiece!!!

I just used some sort fence gate springs from Home Depot, at about $1 a spring, can't beat that.

GM Parts Direct has the springs for $11.75, but the shipping and handling brings the price up to $19.70.

How do you keep the grille up if you've had to modify it to fit a front mount? I had to cut off the flat piece on the back to clear my ESP i/c. Now the grille sags. I cut the flat piece into pieces and stuffed them between the grille and radiator and the grille looked fine....until one of the pieces blew off.

you can drill some new holes in the bumper support..tward the front bumper...I use a shorter spring...hook the spring in the "new" holes and then on the bottom outside edge of the grill

Thanks. I'll give it a whirl after I get the car back, broken in, tuned, cleaned, put all my new stuff on, etc.. So much to do to it when I get it back I almost don't want it back.
