grinding heater/AC heat shield for 3" DP

I'm trying to install a 3" DP in my car and I figured to make it fit I will need to cut about 2" off the bottom corner of the Heater/AC heat shield, Would this cause any major problems?

just cut it to make it clear thats wat i did and no problems ur talkin about the black piece plate right ? if so ull be alright
