Did everyone have a copper core radiator last year and years prior?
Does "Stock transmission shifter" mean no "air shifters" or no "B&M quarter stick" type shifter?
How can they allow aftermarket wheels, turbo, injectors, intercooler etc, but not allow an aftermarket radiator?
Let me just give some info to try and help. The GSCA rules were drafted years ago and do get modified over time. Last year, I think September, was the cut-off for any proposed changes to be considered. These are to be submitted to Jim West, rules comittee Chairman.
Scott, Lonnie, Ron, myself, and others just help run the event and enforce the rules for the benefit of all racers. We cannot change rules, but do help intrepert them.
For example, if the rule said "stock type" shifter, a B&M would be acceptable, air or electric shifters not.
One of the goals of the GSCA National event is to provide a "place" welcoming ALL Buick fans and racers to participate and enjoy. In the many years I have been involved in this event, only this year has there been so much greater interest from old and new participants. [Thanks to the internet!]
It is because of input and support from the members that this event continues to grow and get better. This will be only the 3rd year of the most popular and talked about class - TSM. It was conceived by members, and the rules made by members. A few rule changes were made last year.
You asked very valid questions. Now remember to submit them during the rule change period this summer. The dates and procedures will be on the GSCA web site and will be linked here as well.
