gt3000 vr4 twin turbo dilemma

Got a call today from my folks visiting my uncle out in california who isnt doing too well. Shocked to hear that he can no lnger drive his 95 mitsubishi
vr4 twin turbo and would like me to have the car, ship it out to me.

I already have my gn, 2 other daily drivers & The gn gets stored in the winter. I wouldnt mind taking this car for my wife(she loved it when we visited), but she doesnt know how to drive a standard transmission. That would mean finding storage for 2 cars.

It has some rips in the driver seat and a couple minor dings.

I really am not sure if the car would get good use if I took it and I would not be comfortable taking the car and just selling it for the cash.

keep it and dump one of your daily drivers. those cars get great mileage if you not in the gas all the time. look pretty damn good to. with all wheel drive they are not to bad if you have to drive in the snow

Take the car and teach your wife to drive a standard transmission,i bet she will love it when she gets the hang of shifting it.

Then sell one of the other cars if they get worse gas mileage or are in worse condition, or if not then sell the gt3000 i'm sure your uncle wouldn't mind and doesn't expect you to keep the car forever anyway.

I think I would assess the daily drivers that you currently own and decide to either keep driving them or figure out if the Mitsu would be a better situation for you. If you decide the car will not work out for you let him know that you could sell it for him( as I am sure there are people on this board that would love to pick one up) and get the money to him. Whether or not you take the car, thank your Uncle for his thoughtful offer.

your uncle obviously thinks enough about you to want to give you a car he has enjoyed and loved over the years. accept the offer and learn yo wifey how to drive stick.

John, you read it right, he will ship it out here.

Pros and cons about the whole thing..

Our daily drivers are a 2007 grand prix and a 2003 Jeep grand cherokee.
Hate to dump either of these for a 14 yr old car, since the jeep is so handy for picking up bigger stuff and the GP is practically new with 25K.

This seems like the best alternative since you really don't want or have a need for the car.

As of right now I do not have a son. When it's time , I want my nephew to have my GN because I think the world of him. He knows how important both he & the car are to me. If he sold it before I was gone and gave me the money I would use the money to buy a plane ticket and kick him in the nuts
