because there's no captions; can someone enlighten me on how exactly this happened? was the intercooler part of the firewall (i see an opening behind the intake manifold area?) or was it part of the rear assembly, with ducting in the roof? i see a tank burst open in one shot, but the in car video and distant video doesn't show much if any..other than the roof flying off....

Most of the race cars now have the water cooled intercooler in the passenger seat. From what I remember there was talk of making an SFI "blanket" for them . I have NEVER seen a stock location intercooler come apart .. Front mounts I have seen a lot . Here is a one I saw last Friday at a shop. dammit.. it's on my phone . Ill post it later.
