Razor, when I shut my car off and restart it has difficulty starting and sounds like a big block until it cleans out. I also get a strong smell of alky out of the tailpipes after it fires. I think my nozzle may be leaking down and dumping alky when the car is off. It has also thrown code 45 rich exhaust since this started about 3 weeks ago. Any ideas? Scott

Sorry to hijack your thread Scott, but don't you have Holeshot rims on one of your cars? If so, do they have a website? I've only found a few pics online, but no prices. Thanks buddy.

No holeshots, I run Bogart Welded R/T's on the black car.
Click on my homepage....

It has been a while since I saw the car, so I thought they were Holeshots. Bogarts look nice, especially on your black car. Thanks for the info. I think you made my mind up for me :D

Scott,
well two items to look at. One is if the pump is running when its not suppossed to. Looking at the power injection bulb should tell you if it is.

Now if your nozzle was mounted really low in the pipe, it may be siphoning into the IC. Like when transfering gasoline from tank to can, one side has to be lower for it to transfer.

let me know, call me during the day when your playing with the car. If the nozzle is high, the pump aint pumping.. there should be no alky in the motor.

Hey Razor, according to the power injection bulb my pump isn't running constant. My nozzle is mounted in the bend in the stock uppipe. Should be plenty high, to keep from siphoning I would think. Is it possible the nozzle is leaking down kinda like a bad injector would?

Look at the level on the tank, is it going down. Mark it.. then drive the car without getting into boost. Check it again and see if its come down. If its siphoning.. it will be noticable. Either it is..or it isnt. I havent had anyone with a siphoning issue yet.

"Yet"

Call me tommorrow afternoon, or Sat am if the problem persists.

No the nozzle wont leak down, even if it did.. it would have to leak big time to make a noticable difference.

Lastly how do you smell alky, methanol is odorless? Make sure its not an injector leaking down.

Shouldnt make a difference. Just be sure 100% its alky related.. then find out why.

The alky is where I'm getting the smell from. I drove the car today and it hasn't acted up. I don't know how much alky usage is normal but it does seem to me like it uses alot. I'll draw a line on the tank before I head home and then check it when I arrive. I'll let you know. Thx Scott

make sure the system isnt leaking. Easiest test is to put water in the tank.. alcohol evaporates pretty fast.

I had a customer complain they were consuming a lot.. ended up being a loose connection on the fitting at the pump.

My car consumes a lot too..put thats another story :D

Turn the blue knob off.. there should be no consumption.. unless there is a leak. Triple check your pump area and hoses/filter for loose connection.

Drop me a call..
