I don't know if my dad's tranny has ever been overhauled before. How can I tell if it has a hardened drum or not?

Look at the center of drum shaft. If it has a plug in it it is stock. If it has a braise mark over one hole it is probobly hardened.
If it has my name on it engraved into the side, it is billet and ours...:)

Thanks for the reply. Someone else also e-mailed me. If it is still stock, I will urge him (my Dad) to purchase your billet piece. If it is already a hardened one, I probably won't have much luck.

Sorry we didn't get the kit from you guys. Like I mentioned before, I bought a kit three years ago (I was new to GN's then and wasn't aware of all the different vendors) from L10, and they gave us good phone support, after hours on a weekend. That kind of impressed my Dad, and he liked buying 'one kit' and not having to piece together one. It's only for street use anyway.
