harmonic ballancer upgrade ?

We use lots of these on street/strip builds, but a high RPM race engine need a "real" damper like the BHJ and Fluidamper.

What do you guys consider a "high RPM" race engine?

The factory "limit" is 4800 RPM which has proven problematic for the stock balancer, so I would call that the limit since easy mods put it over 5000 RPM.

After 22-23 years of "hammering" on the parts, the fatigue factor must be considered.

I'm in this boat right now. I made a "smart" decision not to use my stock balancer, and am looking for an alternative. So is it wise to say the "NEW" style internal/external hub from TA performance would not hold up like a bhj balancer would, or be as "good" as a bhj balancer? I need something asap, so this is a great thread! thanks...

This has been covered. The BHJ is a Damper the TA piece is just a balancer. Both are SFI approved and i doubt there have been any failures with either of them
