Has anyone used the Nexen SB 802 tire for a front runner?

They are 165/80/15's. trying to keep from spending $188 per tire for the M/T SR radials, but I'm not sure that a 4 ply tire would be safe on a GN?

I seen these tires on a few Mustangs but I'm sure they weigh a little less. My sons GN is at 3750 with him in it. The front runners are for his car. The car is not driven much on the street back and forth to the track mostly but it is a street car.

I really don't like the use of metric radials as skinnies. before I bought my car, the previous owner had a blowout and damaged the whole left side of the car with just the tire debris that ensued. Then replaced it with the same tire (don't remember the brand, but it was cheap). 2000 miles later that tire split right down the middle as it slipped a belt all the way around. I was lucky that I only drove it a mile like that and happened to notice it.

Never again. MT sportsman fronts and be done with it. Peace of mind.
