So I was driving my GN on my way to a Thanksgiving dinner with my girlfriend - a state trooper pulled me over. I wasn't speeding. He said he pulled me over first because he didn't recognize my collector plates. Then he said he's never seen my type of car before. He asks "What is this? A Monte Carlo?" I looked at him & said "No, it's a Grand National." He looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language to him. LOL! I walked away clean. Kind of funny, I've nevrt had that happen to me in any car.

Are there any other interesting stories any of you have?

Drove mine to a Colts game (my son wanted me to drive it) and one of the cops that helps direct the traffic followed me into the parking lot on foot and talked to me for about ten minutes about the car. He said he has wanted to buy one for a long time. Pretty cool cop. Maybe someday he will be a board member. He seemed very serious about buying one.

WOW, you are lucky the car was still there after the game...
No way would I leave my car in a lot unattended for that long.

in my old gn riding w expired inspection sticker and a cracked windsheild i make a right turn and an officer is in the middle of the street flagging me down. He says do ypu know why i pulled you over? instead of incriminating myself i said no. tbat rurn you made was an illegal right. I didnt know. He says ypu tell me about tjis car ill let you go. so i ran down the list of mods and he kept asking questions. i asked what he drove and he said a mustang. i was praying he wasnt looking at my rear window sticker (it reads -Ponys are for little girls w the mustang symbol galloping.) he partner yells at him to read it. he does laughs and sends me on my way.

My car has been called worse, like Grand Am or Grand International.

I had a similar incident happen to me a few years ago. I got pulled over by the military police on the Navy base I work at...the female sailor said I was speeding. Here's a pic of the citation...good thing she figured out her mistake and corrected it haha.

i had a coworker ask me if my blue T Type was a GN.. i told him a GN was just a black version of my car with a gray interior and spoilers..

one young cop pulled me over once because he wanted to know why i had collector plates that were registered to a Buick on my Monte Carlo... i told him to look at all the badges on the car... he just laughed at his own stupidity and told me to have a good day..

I've been pulled over numerous times by police officers that just wanted a look at the car. Most times they were honest and up front about it. One even apologized for lighting me up and told me that they aren't supposed to do that for personal reasons. One time I had an officer pull me over because he said my tailights were to dim. My car had tinted tails. He never asked for licence or insurance but gave the car the most thorough look over I've seen a cop give a car.

My favorite was the time I was in a Wendy's drive through and the girl at the window started yelling at her co-workers to come see this car. When I pulled up to pay and get my food she proclaimed "OOOOOOHHHHH WEEEEEEEE Your Cutlass is TIGHT"!!! She proceded to tell me how all them boys in her hood be trying to make their Cutlass' nice but they ain't as nice as my Cutlass. "Yo Cutlass TIGHT!" she said as I took my food. I said thanks.

LOL! I'm sure your "Cutty" is tight! That's funny you say that you were in a drive thru. I was in a Starbucks drive thru the other day & a guy said "This is Clean." What is it? Lol! Then he wanted me to rev the engine. So I did and left.

We have season tickets and we always park in the same secured lot. The cops sit in the lot during the game and direct traffic after the games. That cop remembers me and talks to me every time he works that intersection.
